Pop icon Janet Jackson recently joined an elite club, because she is now… a billionaire.
Variety reports that Jackson has raked in a cool $260 million in album sales — from 1986’s Control, 1993’s janet, and 1989’s Rhythm Nation 1814. And, also from roles in movies such as Poetic Justice, For Colored Girls, The Nutty Professor and The Klumps, in which she earned an estimated $304 million into her bank account.
Additionally, Janet has earned $81 million for music and publishing fees, while her world tours, which were sold-out, brought in another $458 million. If you add an additional $81.5 million for licensing fees and tour sponsorships… she’s a billionaire.
The 47-year-old entertainer joins an elite club of celebrities and moguls that include Madonna and Oprah Winfrey. Jackson’s husband, Wissam Al Mana is also part of the club.
