Chuck Inglish, on half of The Cool Kids, is gearing up for the release of his new solo project, Convertibles. But, also has other news… a new deal.

The rapper/producer announces this week a new partnership between his own Sounds Like Fun platform and Dave Sitek’s Federal Prism label (TV on the Radio, Kelis, Oh Land, Scarlett Johannsen) which is distributed by ADA.

Sounds Like Fun will function as a conduit for all Chuck’s future creative projects, including his solo music, his monthly parties in L.A., and in the future, music festivals.

Convertibles is Chuck’s first official solo album and first full-length project on the label.

“Creating Sounds Like Fun gives me a fresh start to finish what I set out to do in the beginning of my career,” Chuck said in a statement. “Mikey and I had to deal with a lot of bullsh** towards the end of our relationship with our old label and we both needed to clear our heads.

“A lot of people think we broke up or have bad blood, but Mikey’s my dude. I’ve always wanted something to call my own, to have my own factory, and Sounds Like Fun is the platform for all my ideas.”

Chuck recently released a free EP through Sounds Like Fun, entitled Droptops. It’s available, for free, at Xferno.com.

Convertibles had no release date, as of press time.
